I’ve had a lot of jobs in my life. I worked everywhere from a Prestigious national company to working a max of three hours at Kmart, taping up torn bags of sock and boxers. Each place I’ve worked I’ve come to know the inner workings of that company and know a bit of what would make the job easier if everyone just knew what the people in the background had to do. So, I’ve decided to share a bit of my “Knowledge” from past jobs with all of you. Some, consumer advice if you will things I had WISHED the consumers would of known, or things that I’ll never do because I know how it feels on the other end. Here it goes..
-Gas station attendants do not want to know in detail that your husband left you for your younger sister’s best friend.
-If you spill something at a gas station just let them know before it spreads through out the store, instead, of just putting some napkins on top of it and walking away.
-When at a clothing store. Please, do not try things on and throw them on the floor. If you don’t feel like hanging up the clothes, the hanger and item can be delivered to the nearest store employee. Its better then going in the dressing room and picking up things from the floor.
-When mailing in payments of any kind, never staple the check to the stub. Always add an acct # or stub to your check (you have no idea how many people just send a check with nothing else in the envelope), and Do not send cash (yes, people still do this).
-If your Child ends up in any sort of group home or delinquent child program while on your visits please, do not yell, in front of your child, things like “Why haven’t you fixed my child yet!” “Is she ready to come home, or are you still working on her?” “She doesn’t still have those annoying habits does she?” “I’m paying for you to fix this!”, “Will she listen to me now?” Ect.
-When upset with a service, getting angry to the point of name calling, yelling and pounding fists. NEVER gets the same results as a smile or joke in asking for the same services.
-If you want something changed in a big scale way. Telling the lil’girl that takes your money will never get that done. Why? because, the company doesn’t really care about her opinion. Although, talking to a manager, or writing a well organized letter does get some recognition. Plus, it leaves a paper trail (documentation) that is always helpful.
-Putting your tip on the table before your served and letting the waitress know that’s what she COULD get if she works hard enough. Doesn’t ensure your personal needs are going to come before everyone else in the restaurants.
