So if you don't know, my husband is an artist. He can paint, draw, write, bead, do leather work, sing, and has many other art like qualities.
I however am not an artist. I do like to doodle, and I dabble in sewing, and I've made some awesome Collages. :) But I've never made anything that someone would pay for or ask for, or drawn something so cool that someone wants it tattooed to there skin for all of there days on this earth. (Crystal and Gary)
Joseph has been opening up my creative world up, and I can say I am actually gaining some skills. But, its hard. Yea, if I'm trying to make something that I'm really proud of and I feel like it is nice and others might like it as well. It doesn't come naturally. Sure if you want me to doodle something during church, I could do that all day long. You might even glance over and say, "Hey cool.". But, thats not the same as making something and having someone say, "I want one! Hey, I'll even pay for it"
Not that I want to make items just for audience approval. It's just something I've been trying out, because it is difficult for me, and it seems to comes so effortlessly for my husband.
So, I feel like I've done it. I actually, beaded Native American Style Barrettes. My very first ever. Yea, I've beaded in the past, but only lil'braceletts that I attached to leather with super glue. Not quite the same as beading these designs to fit a barrette exact pre-made size and then sewing it on to the leather, just so. Anyway, I'm very proud of them. Wanna see?Even though there are people that can whip these babies out like hot cakes. I'm proud of my long hours and sore fingers. :) Joseph, says soon with practice I'll be able to whip them out too. But for now I'll just be happy with the one pair.
During my frustrated times I just kept thinking, "One bead at a time, just one bead at a time." It worked!
Love you all, Happy Holidays.

I am thoroughly impressed...and I think you should start an etsy shop and stick them in for sale!
I love those barrettes. Very cool.
Thanks Crystal. I love Etsy, but it just makes me want to buy stuff, not sell stuff. Maybe I'll think on it after the Christmas Holidays.
Sherpa, Thanks! I appreciate it.
Wow you are both so talented. You make the bread, he does the art work. What more could you ask for? You're such an awesome couple! Love ya, MEr :)
pretty pretty!I love them. One bead at a time huh? sounds like good advise!
I want some! I'll even pay for them. :-) You're so talented, dude.
So awesome! I feel the same way about crocheting an afghan for the baby... one square at a time...
these are beautiful! Happy birthday to you.
