It is College's fault

Since, I've left higher learning I've totally focused on being a Mother  and a wife. The days of staying up all night, going to parties, music and mayhem are long gone. As they should be right?

Well, lately I have found myself, getting interested in new music, style, joining groups, doing projects, all sorts of things. Acutally right now, I just got off of iTunes, with a list of downloads i want to get, I was just checking out the clothes at the Lavish Loft, on Sephora's site looking at all the new make-up, prused Etsy for jewerly, and last but not least The Apple store. What don't I want there?

Seriously, I thought I was mature enough to not get caught up in all of this commercialism, plus as a Mom with two kids, if we do have money it isn't for me to be spending on parties, clothes music and mayhem :). I was just fine with hand-me-downs, giveaways, and thrift shops. What changed?

I blame higher education. College did it. for example, when I'm with my kidlets all day, I had no idea I was missing out on the cool technology like the iPad and all of apps, and accessories. but now in class when the kid next to me is reading his text book of the ipad and then whipping out a wireless keyboard to take notes, I start to drool. In the words of Homer Simpson, "hmm Technology"  Seriously, if I had not gotten back into college, i would of thought iPad? what would I use that for? You can't change a diaper, get stains out of clothing, play ring-a-round the roseys or do a play group with an iPad.  What good is it? But, noooow I can see endless possibilities. There is a similar scenario for all the other items I want.

Long gone are the days of "what do I want" I now have a want, far to many items and not enough money to get them all. Who do I blame for getting me here? I blame College, it's all Colleges fault"

P.S. Did you know there are these cool toe shoes, cool huh.

lol. That's what college loans and grants are for: to buy ipads for "instructional purposes".

Good luck with the wife/mom/student juggle. I often think I would have been a more focused student if I were married at the time.

Mary you said the shoes are "AMAZING" How can I not want something "AMAZING!"

Crystal- I am totally a better student as a Mom. Just more organized and mature. Plus, I can't believe what a distraction "boy's" were back when I was single. I thought I was above it all. But now that I am in school and married I can totally tell a difference.

I saw those toe shoes just the other day at the library. I thought the lady was only wearing socks. Yep I stared.

I loved this post! I often wonder how much more I would have gotten out of college if I was married back then. Or if I were to go back and take classes. I definately want a mac one of these days!

Good luck with classes!
