It is interesting what was scary as a child, but now that your an adult it is no longer a fear.
For instance, when I was young, I was so afraid that there was something (a monster, a person, child eating werewolf) under my bed, that I wouldn't get out of bed to kneel down to say my prayers. Instead would kneel on top of my bed to say my prayers.
I also thought that there was something living in the toilet that would bite my bum, when I sat on it. So, I hurried and did my business when I needed too. I would feel the same way about using the outhouse too. ESPECIALLY, when it was windy, it sounded like there was something living down in the hole of the Outhouse.
Every time the shower curtains were closed I would be worried that someone was hiding behind it. SO I would either hurry and do my bathroom business, or muster up some courage and move the curtain really fast to make sure I was alone in the bathroom.
I was afraid to eat watermelon seeds, because I was told if I did. A watermelon would grow in my stomach!
Oh I was also told if a Frog peed on me, then I would get warts. Ew!
I am sure I had others but those are the ones that I thought of this week. Good thing I got over my bathroom scares, or I would of been living in Fear for most of my pregnancy. :)
What fears did you have as a child?

Childhood Fears

I hate when the shower curtain is closed! I always have to open it. I don't like having the blinds/curtains open when it's dark outside, it gives the aliens a chance to see who's inside =) I don't like showering when I'm alone at night...because I can't hear who is coming in to stab me like in "Psycho."
Carly I totally relate to the shower one! I hate showering when there is no one in the house. Because you can't hear if someone DOES come in the house!
I hate turning on the lights when I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night so I just go in the dark, but out of habit (childhood fears, really) I never look in the mirror when I'm washing my hands.
Guess those fears are hard to shake.
:)
I was so scared of E.T. and I still don't think I will let me kids watch it until they are much much older.
I love looking at your blog. Your baby is SO cute and I love the pictures you took in AZ- Beautiful!!
I still feel that way about outhouses. I do NOT look down into the huge dark pit, i just sit as close to the edge as possible and hurry as fast as I can.
