Hospital Staff

We loved the Hospital staff, not only did we love them but they really liked us. Actually they liked out lil'one. I guess that's what happens when you see tons of bald babies, and we bring them a chunky lil'one with TONS of hair.

Something interesting, I had two different sets of nurse's tell us that we were the topic of conversation at the hospital. It took me by surprise both times. When I asked what they were talking about they both replied that Joseph and I were in our early 30's, we were a married stable couple, we seemed to be generally good people, and that my parents were so on there way from Utah to be there when the baby was born. Just made them feel like we were going to take and raise up the baby in a safe, loving family. We were stable. They were saying that so many of the new babies being born, were coming to parents from broken homes, families that aren't really excited about the children, or families were they had Word of wisdom problems. It was just so refreshing for them to see a nice stable family for an infant to go home with. It actually made them excited.
First of all it humbled me to think they thought Joseph and I had it all together. We do try but believe me we know we can improve. Second, isn't it sad that, us being "normal" in our eyes (LDS Values) is such a drastic contrast to the parents they have going through the hospital? It just made me thankful for the Gospel in our lives. Sometimes we take a loving family, our testimonies and the Spirit in our lives for granted. We get so used to living with the blessings, of the Gospel, that we fail to realize, that we are indeed blessed.

I am thankful for the hospital staff, opening my eyes to how blessed we are. We really did appreciate them while we stayed there. They made my first few days as a mother, alot less stressful. Joseph made Thank You cards for us to leave with the Hospital staff, they loved it so much they got a special gift for Yo'sea a onsie that says, "My first Christmas" a crocheted christmas blanket with matching Beany. They were all sad to see our lil'one leave. We even got hugs as we were leaving the floor. That isn't normal is it?
So to everyone this Holiday Season. The Romo family is just happy to be a family, and we are defiantly thankful for the Gospel in our lives.

that's awesome!!! With my first delivery they were telling me to hurry and get out or else they would charge me another day...( i know rude, plus first time mommies don't know these things), that was one of the reasons why we decided on American Fork our second round. I am so glad you had a welcoming experience.
